Tonight we had family over to celebrate our 1st year as a forever family. We ate Chinese food (fried rice, egg rolls, pot stickers, sweet/sour chicken, asian salad, pomegrantes, and asian pears. I even "attempted" to make cupcakes with the Taiwan flag on them, and we also had fortune cookies. We handed out "take out" boxes with candy as favors, then it was game time. The groups had 3 tasks: 1) move the fortune cookie around the group by using chopsticks, 2) piece together a puzzle of Taiwan, then 3) match the English word with the Chniese symbol. Then we went downstairs to watch a slideshow I put together with our journey this first year.
Then when we were alone, we gave Avery the first of 18 presents (one a year) from Taiwan. She got a touch and feel book about Noah's Ark that is both in English and Chinese.
We are so blessed!
