State Fair!!!

What a great day at the State Fair on Tuesday. My dad and I have gone since I was small, and now Avery gets to join the tradition. We went to Pioneer Village first and Pappy showed us the tractors his dad used to farm. There was even an "Avery" tractor. Then it was off to the "farm" and Avery put beans, corn, eggs and an apple in her basket, then rode a pink tractor (matched her outfit!), "milked" a cow, planted vegetables, then turned in her crops for "money" which she "bought" a fruit cup. We ate the famous pork chops, passed on the deep fried chocolate covered bacon, and had samples of food grown in Indiana (popcorn, watermelon, elk, lamb, milk, cheese, chocolate covered soybeans, eggs, etc). We walked the midway, rode a tractor, and fed goats, and looked at fish. Avery couldn't stay awake for the last part of the fair, and she slept most of the way home. We were all tired! It was a great day, not too hot, and the rain held off. Can't wait to do it again next year!
